Considering the lamp’s wiring was cut off, it would obviously need to be rewired, unless it was just going to sit around and look pretty. I bought a basic lamp rewiring kit that you can find at any hardware store.
First, I ripped the black felt off the bottom to be able to run the wire and twisted my wires together to easily guide them through the lamp to the top. I removed all the old hardware from the lamp and added the new hardware that came with the kit. I attached the wires to the screws on either side of the socket, put the socket cover on and snapped it in place. And that’s it! I told you rewiring a lamp was easy! Step-by-step instructions are included with the kit.
I used a shade I had from an old lamp on my brand-new-to-me alabaster lamp.
And how much does a new alabaster lamp run these days? Pretty sure it's not $17 or less. But if you find one that cheap, let me know. I would love a matching one.
My lamp’s new home is atop my chest of drawers in the master bedroom .
